Dallas Cowboys cut Pat Watkins

It should come as no surprise that Pat Watkins, one of the tallest safeties in NFL history, is no longer on the Dallas Cowboys' roster. The club needed to cut five players by Tuesday, so they got an early jump by releasing Watkins, according to ESPNDallas.com's cheap nfl jerseys
Tim MacMahon.

A fifth-round draft pick in '06, Watkins became a valuable special-teams player and showed flashes of being a decent safety. But with the rise of Alan Ball and free-agent rookie safeties Barry Church and Danny McCray in camp, there was no spot on this team for Watkins. Tight end Martellus Bennett first tweeted the news a few hours ago. He did not use as many exclamation marks as Dez Bryant, but he was obviously saddened by the news.

It used to frustrate Bill Parcells to no end that Watkins threw his shoulder at the legs of San Diego Chargers jersey
opposing ball carriers. Parcells thought it would get Watkins injured. I noticed the other night against the Texans that Watkins was still using that approach. We'll see if he lands on his feet. Don't be shocked if Eagles GM Howie Roseman takes a look.
