Germantown — The 65-58 loss at the hands of visiting Middleton on Dec. 22 was the sixth game in 11 days for the young Germantown boys basketball team and it clearly looked like it to coach Steve Showalter.
"The guys were just dragging," he said. "These younger guys (four sophomores) of ours get tired more quickly, and nfl jerseys we didn't have Malcolm (Bowers). He was so sick, he wasn't even at school and three or four others were fighting through one thing or another."
Germantown dropped to 4-4 overall with the loss. The Warhawks took on Marquette on Tuesday and now will be off until Jan. 5, when they host Cedarburg in a 7:30 p.m. North Shore tilt.
Middleton stretched a 34-31 halftime lead to eight with a 12-7 run in the third quarter and then held the Warhawks at bay in the fourth.
"We didn't have a lot of reebok nfl jersey energy," Showalter said. "We still need to figure out our rotations because we still have a lot of question marks. We have talent, but we need people to give them spells. … We need this break, because this stretch has been tough on the guys. Part of it (the scheduling) has been my fault.
"It wasn't a good time. This was a winnable game. We just let them get too far ahead."
Zak Showalter had 24 points to lead all scorers while Alex Lloyd had 10.
